More about skin aging
What is Skin Aging?
Everyone has to deal with it as we age, wrinkles and loss of skin volume. Skin aging is a process influenced by various factors. Heredity is one of these factors that is genetically determined and unfortunately we can do little to change it, but there are also external factors that we certainly have control over. Think of environmental factors such as: UV radiation (sun and tanning bed), lifestyle and diet (smoking, little sleep, sugars and fats), air pollution (exhaust fumes), climate (heat and cold), hormones and gravity (weight increase and decrease).
How does skin aging occur?
What exactly happens in the skin aging process? The upper dead skin cell layer thickens while the subcutaneous connective tissue decreases, there is less collagen and elastin production. This causes wrinkles and fine lines, but also blemishes such as age spots (hyperpigmentation) and vascular disorders. In addition, the skull shrinks as we get older and you also see a slackening of the skin, also known as volume loss .
Treat skin aging
Fortunately, there are many things you can do these days to take good care of your skin and delay the signs of ageing. For example, skin care with the right ingredients that protect you against free radicals and radiation is the most important thing. There are also many treatment options at Clinique Elixir, such as microneedling, peels and laser therapy.
Skin scan and intake
During the first consultation, the nature of your complaint will be discussed with the practitioner, so that a tailor-made treatment plan can be made. A good treatment plan starts with a skin analysis with the Observ520 skin scanner. The skin therapist can provide a detailed skin analysis about the deeper layers of the skin. You will also receive advice on products that you use at home to support and optimize the treatment. The results of the scan are stored and compared so that we can monitor the progress of the treatment.
Would you like to know what your skin type is, do you have a specific indication or question? Make an appointment now for an intake interview with one of our skin therapists.
Book your intake interview!
Curious what we can do for you? Then book an intake interview without obligation. The skin therapist analyzes your skin and we make a skin scan. This allows us to identify underlying problems and address them in a targeted manner.
