Clinique Elixir offers both the Dermapen® and Dermapen 4® treatment. The Dermapen 4® is an extension of the current Dermapen and offers the most ultimate and advanced microneedling system.

Microneedling using the Dermapen is a technique in which small channels are made in the skin by sterile vibrating needles. In response to the small channels, a natural wound healing process is started in the skin. As a result, the skin will recover, releasing various growth factors, which ensure more production of collagen and elastin in the skin. During this healing process, the skin will look more resilient, smoother, smoother and fresher.

In addition to the natural skin reaction, serums are used that are adjusted to the indication of your skin.

The Dermapen treatment can be repeated with a treatment frequency of 2-4 weeks depending on the skin condition and indication. By treating in a cure (3-5 treatments), deeper problems in the skin can be tackled, such as scars and pigmentation. The number of treatments required varies per person and indication.

Are combination treatments possible? You can combine the treatment with mesotherapy Skinboosters to optimize the result. You could also alternate a cure with peelings.

In addition to the fact that the Dermapen can be used as a treatment to keep the skin fresh and smooth, it is often used for:

• Fine lines

You cannot undergo the treatment if you have the following indications and/or characteristics:

• Active acne
• Active infections (herpes simplex/cold sore, fungal infection)
• Medication (antibiotics, blood thinners)
• Eczema and Psoriasis
• Scleroderma
• Dermatitis
• (Sensitivity to) keloid scars and hypertrophic scars
• raised lesions (birthmarks, warts)
• Sunburned skin
• diabetic
• Telangiectasias
• Recent treatment with chemical peel/dermapen in the treated area
• Allergy to the serum
• skin cancer, radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy in the past 5 years.

Always wait two weeks to schedule a treatment after stopping certain medications. If you have any doubts about whether a certain medication can affect the treatment, always contact us.

Aftercare Dermapen

You may feel some warmth after the treatment. In addition, redness can occur that often lasts 24-48 hours.

Wearing make-up is not recommended until 12 hours after the treatment.

Exposure to sunlight or tanning beds should be avoided during and at least 4 weeks before each (subsequent) treatment.

The area to be treated should be rubbed with an SPF 50 several times a day.

Avoid the sauna/hammam and swimming pool for 48 hours after the treatment.

Up to 24 hours after the treatment, intensive physical exertion and taking hot showers are not recommended.
